If your brain works in pictures like mine, I hope these words will help paint a good picture of my life thus far. As a small child I grew up on a farm in a small town of about 800 people. My father was an electrician by trade and also had a few not-so legal side businesses as well. He was an entrepreneur at heart. My mother is a respiratory therapist by trade and from what I hear a really good one. I attribute most of my success to her. I would watch her almost everyday go work a 12 hour shift then come home to cook, clean the house, and care for me and my 3 siblings. She has been my hero from a very early age. As I got a little older and began to play baseball, I found out that I was good at something- running really fast. I would play center field due to the fact I could catch almost any ball in the outfield. Though I was good at that I also found out that I wasn't very good at batting when it came to "swinging away". My coaches helped me realize something very quickly I may not be able to hit the ball over the fence every time, but I could get on base on a regular basis by bunting the ball down the 3rd base line and out running the throw to first base. As I look at my accomplishments in life I try to take lessons from those days playing baseball.
My heart has yearned for things of God every since I was kid. When I was around 5 years old, a family started picking me up and taking me to church. At that young age God put a hunger in me for Him and to see the plans He had for me come to pass. In 2005 I followed that hunger to Tulsa, OK where I attended Domata School of Leadership at World Outreach Church of Tulsa.
In 2008, my lovely wife Jessie and I were married. We have 2 incredible children, Addi and Libby. My wife and kids are my number one fans and I am forever grateful that God has blessed me with such an amazing family. The year before I got married I started a handyman business called CV Services with $16 in the bank and a loan on a pick up truck and the little bit of knowledge I gained from working with my dad. As I did what I could do and trusted God to do what He could do, I watched Him multiply this little start up into a tremendous residential and commercial general contracting company. CV Services not only supports my family, God has also used it to help me realize some of the dreams and things He has planned for our lives.
Since coming to Tulsa I have had the privilege of going to 8 different nations to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are currently helping missionaries formulate a Plan of Action for their construction and building projects. To think what God has done using the simple lessons I learned as a kid to focus on my strengths to achieve success in my everyday life, and to see that He keeps showing himself faithful to me is beyond what I ever dreamed possible.
